Illuminating Live Oaks

It can easily take up to seven fixtures or more to properly illuminate just one entire live oak. On this particular project, we were able to use an evening demonstration to explore strategies to aesthetically cover an oak tree without going over the client's budget. In all, only three carefully positioned fixtures were needed, one for the left side of the main trunk and center canopy, one for the right side, and a third strategically hidden across the lawn, to illuminate a large portion of a main trunk as it arches over the driveway. The warm tropical color temperature of the LED's, combined with a quality CRI and proper lumen output all matched the remaining low-voltage accent lighting which we installed on the home. There was no need to flood the property with too much illumination, and we were able to create the experience of a full three-dimensional portrait for this property in Bluffton.
